Terms and Conditions and General Information
(the small print)
Payment Terms: A deposit equal to half the price of the booking is payable on making the booking. This deposit is non-refundable. The remainder of the monies are due on completion of your holiday. If you cancel you holiday within four weeks of the start date you remain liable for the full price of the booking.
Start and End times: Your week’s holiday starts on Saturday at 15:00 and ends the following Saturday at 10:30. Earlier entrance and later exit may be available - please ask.
Dogs: Well behaved dogs are welcome at Bank Barn. They are limited to the first floor (kitchen/lounge area) only. We reserve the right to charge for any damage to furnishings, floor coverings etc. Yew Tree Farm is a working sheep farm. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times. Dog owners are reminded that it is good practice to keep dogs on a leash at all times, even on the fell, when in the vicinity of sheep. The law allows a farmer to shoot a dog that is worrying sheep – we don’t recall it ever happening in Wasdale, but we’d hate you to be the first.
Electricity: The cost of electricity is excluded from your holiday price because of inappropriate use by previous visitors. We charge you what we are charged, - there is no profit in this element of the price.
Farm Activities: Yew Tree Farm is a working farm. Agricultural equipment comes and goes and the barns contain hazardous chemicals. Please ensure children take care in the yard area and do not access barns or workshops. You are welcome to watch any thing that goes on at the Farm. Generally we cannot allow you to join in but it may be possible to bottle feed lambs and kids or feed the goats. Do ask, but please accept that we will usually have to say no because our insurance doesn’t cover us as a FarmPark.
Insurance Yew Tree Holidays is insured for all risks arising out of our negligence. We do not provide general holiday insurance or insurance cover for any activities you may carry out while on holiday.
Parking please ensure you park up the lane beside the barn especially if you are going out. The full extent of the yard is required if we need to turn trailers or large wagons.
Gates: Please leave all gates exactly as you find them. It can be tempting to shut a gate you believe has been left open by a less responsible person, but near the top of a shepherd’s list of bad experiences is to be driving 100 sheep into a field and find that someone has shut the gate!
Privacy Many of our visitors come for peace and quiet and so we intentionally ignore them. If you’re more socially inclined and want a chat do engage us in conversation
